Privacy policy

This explains what Screen Markup does with information. RSW Digital Ltd is the controller.

What passes through our relay

While your phone or tablet is connected, a small live picture of your main screen, your drawing and your pointer and scroll movements are sent through our relay server so each device receives them. This traffic is encrypted in transit, is held in memory only for as long as it takes to pass on, and is not recorded, stored or used for anything else. A short room code identifies the connection; anyone who has the code can join it, so keep it private and change it from the app whenever you wish.

Your free trial

To give each PC one free trial, the first time Screen Markup runs it sends our server a one-way fingerprint of the PC (a hash that cannot be turned back into the PC's own identifier) and we record when the trial began. Nothing else about your PC is sent. If you reinstall or download the program again, the same start date applies.

Licence checks and update checks

When Screen Markup starts, and every few days after, it asks our server whether a newer version exists and whether your licence key is still valid. The licence check sends your key; the update check sends the version number. We keep ordinary server logs (IP address, time, request) for security and to fix faults, for up to 30 days.

Payments

Payments are handled entirely by Paddle.com, which is the merchant of record and a controller of your payment and billing data under its own privacy policy. We receive confirmation that a subscription exists and its status, and the email address you bought with so that we can resend a lost key. We do not see your card details.

Our website

The sales page uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Paddle's checkout may set cookies it needs to take payment.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, and you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (UK) or your local authority. Use the support page to contact us.
